2008 Scholarship Presentations
On July 25, 2008 the Fort Gordon Sergeants Major Association hosted their 2008 SMA Scholarship Award Ceremony. The winners of the scholarship awards were selected based upon the best-prepared essay in accordance with the Fort Gordon’s Sergeants Major Association established guidelines. The following individuals were selected:
Sergeant Major Lacey Ivory Scholarship Award
The 2008 Sergreant Major Ivory Scholarship is presented to Kimberly Janelle Linton for here essay on The Ultimate Sacrifice. Kimberly was born in Stuttgart, Germany; she graduated from Greenbrier High School with a 3.5 GPA.
Sergeant Major Larry Strickland Scholarship Award
The Sergeant Major Strickland 2008 Scholarship Award is presented to Brittany Alexandria Hammond for her essay on the Positive Effects of the Computer in the 21st Century. Brittany is a native of Augusta, Georgia; she graduated from John S. Davidson Fine Arts Magnet School with a 3.56 GPA.
Command Sergeant Major Jerry Wilson Scholarship Award
The 2008 Command Sergeant Major Wilson Scholarship Award is presented to Davion Terrick Haughton for his essay on Mandatory Military Service. Davion was born in Frankfurt, Germany; he graduated from Cross Creek High School and plans to attend Georgia Southern University in the fall.
